Author Guidelines

Foresight and Public Health welcomes original research articles, reviews, and scholarly contributions that align with the journal’s scope. Authors must follow the submission guidelines outlined below to ensure a smooth review and publication process. The journal adheres to APA (7th edition) style for formatting, citations, and references.

Manuscript Submission

  • Manuscripts must be submitted electronically through the journal’s online submission system.
  • The submission file should be in Microsoft Word (.docx) format.
  • Authors must ensure that their manuscript is completely anonymized for the double-blind peer-review process (i.e., remove identifying information from the manuscript, file properties, and acknowledgments).
  • All manuscripts must include a cover letter, stating the significance of the study, its originality, and confirmation that it has not been submitted elsewhere.

Manuscript Structure

All manuscripts must follow the APA (7th edition) format and include the following sections:

1. Title Page (Separate File)

  • Title of the manuscript (concise and descriptive).
  • Full names of all authors.
  • Institutional affiliations of all authors.
  • Corresponding author's name, email, and ORCID ID.
  • A statement regarding conflicts of interest.
  • Funding information (if applicable).

2. Abstract (Maximum 250 Words)

  • A structured abstract with the following headings: Background, Methods, Results, and Conclusion.
  • No references or abbreviations should be included in the abstract.

3. Keywords (3 to 6 Words)

  • Keywords should be relevant, specific, and separated by commas.
  • Keywords should help in indexing the manuscript.

4. Main Text

The main text should follow APA (7th edition) formatting and include:

A. Introduction

  • Provides background information and significance of the study.
  • Clearly states the research problem and objectives.
  • Includes relevant literature to justify the study.

B. Methods

  • Clearly describes the research design, sample, and methodology.
  • Includes ethical considerations and approval (if applicable).
  • Details data collection instruments and analytical procedures.

C. Results

  • Presents findings without interpretation.
  • Includes tables and figures where necessary.

D. Discussion

  • Interprets findings in the context of existing literature.
  • Highlights the implications, limitations, and potential areas for future research.

E. Conclusion

  • Summarizes the key findings.
  • Provides final remarks on the study’s contributions.

5. References (APA 7th Edition Style)

  • All references must follow APA (7th edition) formatting.
  • References should be listed in alphabetical order.
  • Every citation in the text must appear in the reference list and vice versa.
  • DOI links should be included where available.

6. Tables and Figures

  • Tables and figures should be placed within the text and numbered sequentially (e.g., Table 1, Figure 1).
  • Each table/figure must have a title and caption following APA format.
  • Tables should be formatted without vertical lines and include a note below if applicable.
  • Figures must be of high resolution (minimum 300 dpi).

Ethical Considerations

  • All studies involving human subjects must include informed consent statements and approval from an institutional ethics committee.
  • Authors must disclose conflicts of interest and funding sources.
  • The manuscript must not have been published or submitted elsewhere.
  • Plagiarism is strictly prohibited, and all submissions will be checked using iThenticate.

Formatting Guidelines (APA 7th Edition)

  • Font: Times New Roman, size 12, double-spaced.
  • Margins: 1-inch on all sides.
  • Headings: Follow APA (7th edition) levels.
  • In-text citations: Use author-date format (e.g., Smith, 2020).
  • Quotations: If longer than 40 words, use block quote formatting.

Article Processing Charges (APC)

  • Upon acceptance, an Article Processing Charge (APC) of 100 USD is required.
  • No fees are required for submission or peer review.

Peer Review Process

  • All manuscripts undergo double-blind peer review by two or three independent reviewers.
  • The review process typically takes 4-6 weeks.
  • Authors may be asked to submit revisions before final acceptance.

Self-Archiving and Indexing

  • Authors are encouraged to self-archive their accepted manuscripts in institutional repositories.
  • Published articles are indexed in Magiran, SID, Noormags, Civilica, and Ensani.

Final Submission Checklist

Before submitting, ensure that:
✔ The manuscript follows APA (7th edition) formatting.
✔ The title page is uploaded separately.
✔ The main manuscript is anonymous for peer review.
✔ References are formatted correctly.
✔ Tables and figures follow APA style.
✔ Ethical approval and consent statements are included (if applicable).
✔ The conflict of interest statement is provided.

Submission Preparation Checklist

All submissions must meet the following requirements.

  • This submission meets the requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines.
  • This submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration.
  • All references have been checked for accuracy and completeness.
  • All tables and figures have been numbered and labeled.
  • Permission has been obtained to publish all photos, datasets and other material provided with this submission.
